Background/Aim: Alzheimer's disease is a progressive disorder that causes atrophy and neuronal death in the brain. Currently, there not any effective therapy for disease. The current research was designed to investigate beneficial effects of allicin on Alzheimer’s SHSY-5Y cells vitro elucidating neuroprotective mechanism allicin. Methods: Human neuroblastoma cell line (SH-SY5Y) differentiated with retinoic acid conduct Disease model. Amyloid β1-42 protein applied 24 hours (2.5 µM) induce cytotoxicity. Allicin cultures wide spectrum dose (10 μM, 50 100 μM) effect against amyloid β hours. MTT LDH analyses were performed assess viability. MDA ROS concentrations SOD activity analyzed determine oxidative stress. Moreover, caspase-3 expression induced neurotoxicity determined by RT-PCR analysis.
